“My times are in Your hand…”
Psalm 31:15
We make plans, but they don’t always materialize on our time table. Some will respond to not accomplishing the task at our set time by saying, “That was your time, not God’s timing. When it’s God’s time, it will happen.” This could be a true statement, however, have you considered that the lack of achievement could have been procrastination on your part?
Personally, I have to be very careful about thinking I missed God’s timing or that I am running ahead of God. Yes, I do miss His timing on occasions. But, I have to be cautious because I can also procrastinate. Putting my failures on God could be an easy cop-out. Generally, I am pretty good about following plans, but I have a human size that jumps in the driver’s seat sometimes and takes me for a ride even though, I don’t like being driven off focus. As a matter of fact “Focus” is my word for 2019. Well, needless to say with what has occurred in my family recently “focus” has been shattered; at least for the first quarter of the year.
Are you guilty of charging God with your weakness called procrastination? Do you put things off because it isn’t the most appealing project or task on your “To Do List?” I know you are out there!
Sometimes we have to geek ourselves up—speak to that old body, mind, and spirit and tell them who the boss really is and kick it in gear.
God has His timing, but let’s not use it as an excuse to dilly-dally.
A journey is completed one step at a time, and an elephant is consumed one bite at a time.
Let’s get moving!
“Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.” Proverbs 6:6-8 (NLT)
Pray…
Lord, this blog spoke to me, loudly. I hear You! I need Your help, Your grace and strength to busy myself doing what I have been putting off and dreading to do. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will not only do better…I will get up and do right. Amen.
