“He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.”
Ecclesiastes 11:4
September 11th will always be etched in the minds of Americans and many others around the world for the horrific attack on our nation. It marks the day that so many of our fellow Americans lost their lives by those who hate us and certainly did not know our Lord and Savior.
For most, September 11, 2001, was a typical day. People got up early and left their homes for another day of work. Some made it, while others have stories of delays and setbacks that unknowingly kept them out of harm’s way.
My daughter lives and was living in New York City at the time. During those days she was known to be a late sleeper, so she missed being out and about during the attacks. Her friends told her they would never complain about her being a late-night person again. I am forever grateful that she was among the New Yorkers who were spared.
Many who were killed on that day had hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled before a senseless act took their lives. None of us know when a date will be placed to the right of our dash. We do know that our time to complete our earthly assignment is limited.
My question is, “What are you waiting for to get started on your assignment?” “Someday?” God has given us what we need to get the job done. If you are waiting for all conditions to be perfect—news flash—they never will.
September is not only the month to commemorate the 911 attack, but it’s also the ninth month and month of completion and birthing.
A mother gives birth after completing 9 months of pregnancy. To give birth means the beginning of something new. A new child. A new ministry. A new book. A new venture and new hopes.
It was at the ninth hour that Jesus hung His head and died on the old rugged cross. His death meant He had completed His passive work on earth and He was ushering in something new: new life, new hopes, and new opportunities.
During September, there is special grace to give birth to the visions and dreams that God has deposited in us. Why not push and bring them forth.
If we wait to figure everything out, we probably will never start. Most people who became successful started before they were ready. Don’t wait until God has to push you into deep water. Dive in while the grace is upon you.
Take a lesson from Moses, Abraham, and Noah, they started without having all the details. God led them as they obeyed.
“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that” (James 4:13-15).
Lord, give Your people the strength to step out of their comfort zones and into their assignments. Help them to realize that all conditions will never be perfect, but You are a perfect God, and You will guide them as they obey and look to You. Amen.

Another beautifully written inspiring blog! It encouraged me to press forward and to realize that there will never be a “perfect time” to do what God has assigned to my hands. However, it lifted me to be reminded that He is always with me and only HE can bring to pass His good will in my life. It is indeed challenging to make transitions and I’m in the middle of many of them right now. Thank you for the prayer at the end of the blog…I received it. Lord, give me strength and wisdom to step out of MY comfort zone into YOUR assignment and continue to GUIDE me as I obey and look to YOU! Amen! Thank you Apostle for this encouraging blog!!
You are certainly welcome, Pastor Franks. God is so very faithful. He gives us what we need.
