“And He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” (Malachi 4:5-6 NKJV)
A few days ago, the third Sunday in June, our nation celebrated fathers. Many children and grandchildren hailed their dads as the best father ever. While some were celebrating their fathers, others were experiencing the pain of their broken-hearted father flaw wounds. Still, others were reminded of the misrepresentation they once held regarding their heavenly Father due to erroneous teachings about His true nature and His unconditional love toward us.
Father wounds are real and have been a stumbling block for many on their road to destiny. Children tend to perceive God, the Father, through the lens of their earthly father.
Wounds occur when the love of the heavenly Father is not adequately demonstrated by the earthly father. If these wounds are not appropriately dealt with, they affect the child’s responses to life.
I was hit with a double whammy, my father was absent from the home for most of my formative years due to his work situation. The absence of a father in the house regularly left me with feelings of rejection and abandonment. To add insult to injury, I was taught by the church that God-the-Father was basically a disciplinarian. To me, it seemed that dispensing punishment was God’s primary role.
Beside my misconceptions about God, I was saddled with a long list of rules (do’s and don’ts) that made it difficult for me to enjoy life or God. As a result, I had an unhealthy fear of God. I shunned intimate contact with people and was fearful of correction.
Even though I had a dramatic born again experience as a teenager, I lacked an intimate love relationship with my heavenly Father. Trying to keep the endless list of rules left me empty and joyless, which eventually became too much for me to bear. I sought relief from this burden through both godly and ungodly means.
God in His tender mercies met me where I was when I cried out to Him in prayer and meditation on His Word. He gently and lovingly guided me onto a path of wholeness where I was delivered (made free) from the pain of father flaws.
I now have a healthy and satisfying relationship with my Abba, my Dad.
Anyone who has experienced father flaw wounds can be healed and made whole. Come sup with the Father at His table and unleash the pain, anxiety, and shame.
Your Father is waiting to release you into the victorious life He always intended for you.

The Father’s Table has blessed many of us who know that there is only one perfect father. I am forwarding this invitation to everyone that I know who might also be blessed by participating in this event. Thank you for allowing the Holy Spirit to heal others through this powerful illustrative ministry! Everything changes when we get to know our Abba, our Heavenly Father, and his true heart toward us!
Thanks Pastor Franks!
