RELAX seems to be a word that God is using in this season to get His people’s attention. Last night I was watching an episode of Joyce Meyer, and her lesson was on “RELAX.” She kept saying, “relax and breathe.” I thought, yes, that’s the word that God is trying to impart to His children. We are so wound up; rushing, worrying and wondering as if we don’t have a loving, faithful heavenly Father who cares about His children. I can just imagine what the birds are thinking, “what is wrong with those humans, they are so tense all the time?”
Do we take the time to watch the little birds as they nibble on the ground and hop from branch to branch? They don’t seem to have a care in the world. They wake up every day expecting their needs to be taken care of. I find this rather amusing…instead of us being an example to the birds of how to “RELAX” and depend on God for our concerns, Jesus told us to “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they” (Matthew 6:26)?
You know, we ought to be ashamed of ourselves. Just think about it, the birds of the air rely more on God than intelligent humans do. Now that we know who to watch and take our cues from let’s just “BREATHE!” If it will help, get a glass of cold lemonade or a cup of warm tea and meditate on the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. If God allowed the situation that you find yourself in now, then He has a purpose. Just ask Him, and He will reveal it to you. Keep in mind, “All things work together…” You know the rest! (Romans 8:28). RELAX…BREATHE…SELAH!
