One Word Can Make A Difference
Yesterday, I had to do some shopping and take care of some business, so I came into contact with people from various walks of life. I was wearing one of my many tee shirts with a positive message imprinted on it. Some of my shirts are bling and shiny, so they attract attention. Yesterday, I wasn’t wearing bling, but the word on my shirt did shine as it glistens on the background of the black fabric. There was only one word imprinted on my shirt, and it was written in gold metallic, Worship.
As I went about taking care of my various task, I heard these words repeatedly, “I love your shirt.” As I listened to the voices and looked into the faces of those who uttered those words, there was a sense of joy and pride that accompanied their response. Everyone who took note of my shirt and gave a compliment seemed to have a personal connection with the word, “Worship.” It was apparent, that the word was more than a noun to them, to them it was an action word.
Personally, I was beginning to feel a sense of satisfaction that I had been lead to wear this particular shirt. It indeed did lift the spirits of God’s people.
At the end of the day, I was tired, but I decided, I needed to accomplish one more task before retiring for the evening. After I ate my dinner, I went back out into the marketplace and as I was purchasing some items at the Dollar Tree, another customer who had tattoos covering most of her body, looked at me and said, “I love your shirt, Worship, Praise, and Worship.” I was pleasantly surprised. I would never have guessed that this person knew anything about “Praise and Worship.” Again, it was with passion as if she knew the God that I “Worship.”
I believe hearts were touched and lifted just by me wearing a $20.00 tee shirt that resonated with the hearts of God’s people. The hour in which we live is a time when people need to be encouraged and reassured that God is still in control. All He desires from us is “Sincere Worship.” He calls it—True Worship. I believe I came into contact with some true worshippers yesterday who was just delighted to know that there are others who are worshipping the true and living God.
One word can make a difference!
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.”
John 4:23
