This year has started out with a BANG! There seems to be a lot of illnesses, deaths, catastrophes, and unexplained situations. Even the weather has gotten into the act. I shared with many of you last year, that I sensed in my spirit, that this year is going to be a different kind of year. The type of year that calls for total commitment and genuine devotion to the things of God, in order to be victorious. Otherwise, defeat will take us under.

We can no longer meander through or tip around in shallow waters. It’s time to go deeper. God is calling us to a deeper way of living.

Many of God’s children have gotten caught up in the world’s system and a superficial way of thinking and living. Some of us have started to make excuses for ungodliness, and are engaging in things that are not God’s highest and best for our lives. To put it simply, we are making excuses for our sins, as well as the sins of others!

There was a time when Peter and the other disciples were able to make a living fishing in shallow waters. However, when the currents shifted, knee-deep fishing could no longer yield them a haul. They had to go deeper. Likewise, current events dictate that it’s now time for us to launch out into the deep. We can’t wait for a missile alert to seek shelter. We must dive now, if we are going to thrive in the midst of the onslaughts of the enemy.

Please, saints, I am pleading with you like a mother would her children…let’s go deeper! Let’s throw off all the weights and baggage that will hinder us from diving into the deep. Our lives and those we care about depend on it.

Remember, when Paul and others were despairing for their lives while traveling to Rome during a tempestuous storm? They had to lighten the ship (Acts 27). The two hundred and seventy-six men on board, had to determine what wasn’t essential and they threw it overboard. We must do the same. Get rid of everything that will cause us to be among the casualties.

Even though the missile alert in Hawaii was a false alarm, the alert in the spirit realm is REAL. You don’t want to be among those scrabbling for a bunker when the missile strikes…get in, now!

This Scripture is resting heavily on my heart, “Surely the Lord God does nothing, without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7).

Let’s suit up and go scuba diving in the spirit!

Lord God, I don’t want to be unprepared or ill-equipped during the severe and perilous days ahead. Please help me to suit up in your full-armor, so that I might withstand all the fiery darts of the enemy.
