But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Many of you have heard the adage, “A delay is not a denial.” This is not just a trite saying to stir the emotions. It’s a phrase that is pregnant with hope. When I was in Jerusalem recently, one night as I was lying in bed drifting off to sleep, inwardly I imagined that I started to preach a sermon, entitled, “A Delay Is Not A Denial.” I had been invited to preach for a banquet that dealt with motherhood. I arrived at the venue without my iPad, notes or my Bible. As a matter of fact, I could not recall preparing to preach. I said to the Lord, “Pull it up out of my belly.”
At the preaching moment, I stood up, started walking the floor, and began preaching. To illustrate my point, I used Sarai and Hannah as two mothers whose promise or desire had been delayed. Sarai, represented the promise that seemed impossible to be fulfilled because she was just too old and frail to handle it. Hannah, on the other hand, was young and in the flower of her years, but she was too selfish and self-absorbed for the promise to be released to her.
You know the story of these mothers. Both of them received the promise or desire for a child after a period of delay. Not only did I minister about these two Old Covenant women, but I gave a word of knowledge to a couple attending the banquet. The word I gave, stated that they would see the manifestation of what they were believing for in nine months.
The next morning after a refreshing night of sleep, I attended another session of the Jerusalem Convocation where Cindy Jacobs (an American prophetess), was ministering the word. My mouth flew open when I heard her say, “I want to talk to you about – a delay is not a denial.” I knew then for certain, that God was giving me a word that needed to be shared with the body of Christ. The night before, in a state of semi consciousness, I was only ministering in my own spirit privately, but Cindy Jacobs, was ministering to nations from around the world, one hundred and fifty to be exact.
The Convocation commenced with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year (the head of the year – 5778). For believer’s, our spiritual new year began on September 23, 2017. God gave me a word to share for this new year: “There have been many dreams, visions, promises and desires that have been delayed in your life, however, they have not been denied. If you have stayed in faith, with a pure heart, you will see the manifestation of the things that you have been promised. Such things as:
• The salvation of your loved ones
• The return of the prodigal
• The increase in your finances
• The healing of your body
• The birthing or breakout of your ministry
• The launching of your business
• The breakout of your business
• The healing and restoring of your relationships
• The new home
• The divine connections
• The peace you have been seeking in your home
• The promotion
Cindy Jacobs, ministered on the “spirit of delay,” which she described as a hindering spirit, caused by heartbreak or heart sickness. I have given you the word that God gave to me, and I believe it is a word God wanted me to deliver to you today.
Points to Ponder:
God is not slack concerning His promises (2 Peter 3:9). He knows the plans that He has for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11). God waits until the proper season before He releases the promises. He knows when all conditions, people, and resources are in sync. This includes our hearts and capabilities.
You are never too old to receive the promise. Say like Caleb, “give me this mountain!” But, keep in mind, in order to receive God’s promises, you must be like Caleb, who followed the LORD whole heartedly (Joshua 14:7-12).
Shalom!
