Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Psalm 122:6
Greetings from the Biblical Heartland of the Bible – Israel
To all of my “Hump Day Inspiration” readers, sorry about the delay this week. I was on assignment, journeying through the Land of the Bible and praying for our Jewish sisters and brothers. It was an amazing, inspiring and informative experience. Pastor Pamela Sorrells, our IPHP choreographer, and I, were blessed to be among the 2,000 attendees from 150 nations who participated in the “All Nations Convocation Jerusalem and Watchmen’s Tour of Israel 2017.”
The 14 day Convocation is hosted annually by Tom and Kate Hess. This year is Jerusalem’s Jubilee (50 years of reunification, 1967 – 2017), therefore, the worship and presentations focused on this theme. We gleaned from and was challenged by some of the renown international prophets, apostles and thought leaders of today concerning Israel’s future and the Believer’s role in it.
The Watchmen’s Tour consisted of 3 days of touring and praying for the people and land of Israel. The hotspots where the Arabs and Palestinians control or desire possession, were particularly highlighted. We were also blessed to be in Jerusalem on the day that we observe as the national day of prayer for Jerusalem, October 2nd.
This was my second pilgrimage to Israel. My first visit was in March 1996. I love traveling the roads of beautiful Israel with its many mountains and valleys. Our tour guide, Shirer, a Zionist Jew, inspired us with many revelations that stretched our western minds. She also was brave enough to share her life’s story with us. I will share some of her story along with more of our experiences in a later post. I just wanted to drop in today to let you know what I have been up to and that we will be back on track next week.
In addition to sailing on the Sea of Galilee, here are a few of the sites that we visited:
Jaffa Gate
Christ Church (the oldest Messianic Church in the city)
Dung Gate
Haifa
Tiberias
Nazareth (we spent 2 nights here)
Western Wall
Bethlehem
Mount of Beatitudes
Mount of Olives
Tower of David
Mount Zion
Mount Carmel
Peter’s House
Capernaum
Tel Aviv
Kishon River
Magdal
Church of the Nativity
West Bank
Jordan River (baptism took place)
Bethsaida
Cana
The Gaza Strip
Jezreel Valley
Upper Room and many more.
Again, I am sorry I missed you yesterday, but it was for a worthy cause.
Shalom!
Remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
