“Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
2 Chronicles 20:15
Just “Let God Handle It” can be one of the most difficult things to do. It’s a particularly hard choice when you are being attacked and falsely accused. And to make matters worse, usually God seems to be silent while we are being treated unfairly. Since we can’t see any evidences that He is acting on our behalf, many times we interpret it to mean that God doesn’t care. Therefore, it becomes tempting to fight our own battles. It’s just human nature to want to retaliate when we are being mistreated, misrepresented and marginalized.
However, if you are a child of God, God doesn’t want you to put on your boxing gloves and duke it out. God would like to have the pleasure of showing us that He can handle any negative circumstances better than we can. He knows the situation and the people better than we do. God also knows that more than likely, by fighting in our own strength, we will only escalate the situation and thereby, misrepresent Him.
God’s way has always been, “Stand Still and See the Salvation of the Lord” (2 Chron. 20:17). His Son, Jesus, demonstrated this method of non-violence when He was being tortured and insulted on the Via Dolorosa, on the road to the cross. Though He had the power to destroy not only the people taunting Him and the whole world, He didn’t fight back, nor did He speak a word in His own defense. Rather, He relegated the power and authority to His Father (1 Peter 2:23).
The Father demonstrated His power by raising His Son from the grave on the third day. This one act of non-violence defeated the real culprit, Satan, and gave us the power to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
Martin Luther King, Jr, was a contemporary leader, who demonstrated non-violence while fighting for freedom and justice. He never lifted a hand in retaliation when he was being beaten by the police and the angry mob. Even though he didn’t live to experience the fruit of the “Promised Land,” he died in hope that his people would get there.
God doesn’t always show His hand while He is fighting on our behalf. He wants us to trust Him and His Word in the midst of our trials. God uses hurtful attacks for our good; to build our faith and develop our character. If we want to fulfill our purpose and walk out our destiny, we must cooperate with God and trust that He is handling our adversities even when we can’t trace His hand.
Now, who do you think is the better person to fight your battles, you or God?
Declare…
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Thank you Apostle Crawford for this hump day blog about “Letting God Handle it!” My challenge has always been consistency. I often turn situations over to God and then I think, and think and think, as I wait, and wait, and wait. Your blog today, reminded me to simply trust God! He is much better at handling every situation in my life than I am. “TRUST” can be defined as “True Reliance Upon the Savior….Totally! Today, I was inspired by your blog to put and KEEP my trust in the Lord because He knows what He is doing in my life and in the lives of those I care about and love and those I am praying for. Thank you for the “hump day PUSH!” Love you!!
